Yea, they poison em out here in the country, started doing it about 10 years ago after we had a severe ice storm that took down a lot of miles of utility lines. I tried telling them last year, that I would keep em trimmed but they said it was mandatory that they were sprayed they killed about 10 year and a half old poplars I had planted for a screen. They did warn me about a month ahead of time.... told me I could move em but it was the end of August, 100+ degree days and dry as a bone, I knew they would not survive.
If they are spraying your land you do have recourse.
First of all DO Not accept their policy. Post the length of your land with DO NOT SPRAY signs.
Second Have an attorney draw up a notice warning informing the utility company of your Objection to spraying on your land. Ordering Cease and desist.
Have this notarized and file it with your court house.
Now comes the fun part.
Next time they come to spray be prepared to Get as much video as you can of them spraying on your land.
Attempt to get the DO NOT SPRAY signs in the photo.
Also you want to research what chemicals they are spraying
You may be shocked to find out that the defoliant they use is akin to agent orange.
File your case to be heard in court.
Your argument is they are polluting the ground water on your land, and destroying your crop of trees. You will be suing for damages and requesting they clean up their toxic spill. They have no legal argument as you offered to maintain the trees ( your crop) at no cost to them.
DOCUMENT your offer and all Corespondent's. Keep in mind their company policy is not law.

You might be surprised how fast the utility co. changes their policy.
