Make sure you are on a strong TP and that you assigned the right diseqc port )circular or linear).

Aim for the closest sat to your longitude.

Have you gone to /www.satcalculator.freehostia.com and got your dish and motor elevation ?

Post 79w

Use the new york network on 79w to aim.
Set the motor to your latitude and see if 30 degrees works for dish elevation.
Some manuals say use 30 degrees,others say 30 - 6.xx degrees.
Use firmware older than v130,(which was the last) that version isn't too good for blindscan which for true fta is a must.

Post wrong names

The magnum is famous for wrong names when it comes to linear sats, the goal is to get the correct transponder for the dead south sat and ignore the sat names. If 30 degrees doesn't work use the degrees in the declination table for your motor.
You can also pre-set the motor for any strong southern sat and use that to aim.
TP1 is often the wrong freq, make sure that is correct.
