My steps to load PUFF

Convert Pansat 2500 to Puff

1.You must have the serial cable that came with the Pansat 2500 (2-2, 3-3, 5-5).

2. Under no circumstances load normal Pansat files after this conversation. Other wise you will have to JTAG the unit back to factory specs and start over. These files are found in Futre-fta JTAG area, look for Marko JTAG for dummies.

3.These files are derived from the Pansat 2700 files and posted by Fwank7 and now others.

4.These conversion files can be found on Hashhu in the Fortec and Pansat section, dssrookie, or else where. (google).

5.I used Don & Karen’s Skymax (JTAG) to erase my old operating system. (Future-fta) I erased 3 times, then installed the file for my chip (29LV or 39VF) when done it will say 7FFFF000, Remove JTAG cable and hook up serial cable.

6.With the serial cable hooked up, and BL Loader 1.4, load the BOOT B-60 file as a BOOT file, load on the first knight rider dash, when its done, it will show dashes, turn OFF Back Switch. If you can not achieve this step, then JTAG the receiver and start over.

7.Again using the BL loader turn ON receiver, on the first knight rider dash load the Bin, PUFF 253 file, wait until receiver says ON, this may take a few minutes, mine took 2 minutes, patience is required, the new operating system is now loaded, turn OFF back switch.

8.Open JVVH-Team-Puff Boot BG (1)(1).0.1 bins, unzip, Included is GTrom loader v27.02 (I used BL loader), click on file and choose the background of your choice, turn receiver ON and the first P hit download. Wait until receiver says ON. (then turn OFF). I found the back ground I wanted (2700) and save it then I deleted the rest. IMPORTANT (This file will load and the receiver will go ON. The loader will say it failed to load {Ignore this warning} just hit cancel.

9.Again using the BL loader, turn ON, on the first P load the current PUFF bin (26???) wait until receiver says ON. It will say F for about 45 seconds, then ON. Then turn OFF from the back.

10.With the receiver ON load your channel list with Channel Master as a 2700 (you can use your 3500 file) or do a scan.

11.Hook up to TV, turn ON, there is again a delay before it say’s ON, check the GMT time, and adjust as necessary, turn auto roll OFF. You may need to set the default key to make it work. Exit out and receiver will say searching 4 keys, and will then come on. Watch T.V.

12.Be aware that when the Pansat files fail so will these files, you will then have to load a new bin file. #9.

13.Be prepared to load the files immediately after you turn ON back switch. If you are not quick enough then you will have problems loading the bins and have to start over.

14.Until they change the operating system, when the new fixes come out just load the new bins with BL loader and your channel list (#9, 10, 11) watch T.V.

I am not any expert at this by any means, it took me several hours to achieve this task the first time. And many revisions. If you think you made a mistake you can always JTAG the receiver back to original and start over. (I did) Thanks go to Fwank7 for publishing this system so we can continue to use the 2500. Keeping up with the changes require 24+7 diligence and knowledge of how these files work, our many thanks to him and others. ( I do not have a clue) Others have posted their version of how they loaded these files, but this is what worked for me. I loaded 3, 2500’s using these instructions so I know they work.

A.files are found In Pansat forum, BL loader 1.4
B.The 253 bin in Pansat 2500A, 2009-02-26 by Ydich27 the file is Jvvh Fortec Pansat CanAm 253.zip
C.Forted Ultra = new 26?? File (current file).
D.Fortec Jvvh Fortec/Pansat v262 (Puff) 2500-2700 Fwank7, Jvvh team Puff boot BG 1.0.1. bin zip with GTrom Loader v27.02 (background). After you find the files neede, put then in a new folder, open then up and keep everything together, makes it easier to fine later on. I did not attach any files, not sure it would work with this means of communication.
