Chat box suggestion

I think the big red letters above the chat box are either misunderstood, misleading or just not worded clearly.

If someone does not know what the forums are, it could be mistaken that the chat box BELOW is the place for questions.

It should probably read "No satellite questions in the Chat Box"

This was the first site I ever visited. I did not know the difference between forums or threads.

It might save you guys some headaches.

Sun-26 18:38 the files for each model is loated just down in the forums just scroll down and you will see the brands listed alphabetically and then the file sub forums are there also.

Thanks ac1. I might have thought the same if it were not for the key words like "chat' and or "forums" that correspond to places on the site that are well marked. As with many other situations, its operator error so to speak as they ask before reading

I think it's the word BELOW that throws everybody off.

Every chatbox on every site I visit has the same problem. People just don't read and look for the easiest way to get their questions answered, they don't read the rules either. It's always been this way and to me the chatbox is just a hassel but as things stand now, there's not much else to do. When things get going again, most sites shut down the chatbox when new files are coming out as it takes up the staffs valuable time to keep monitoring it.

Agree with you wrangler...maybe replace the chatbox with the site rules streaming across...JMO....lol

It might help if attention was drawn to the "live help" button.. rarely used, and a good place for getting directions, or simple help. I think the Chatbox is great, and live help should be used to " help newbies help themselves" .

Edit: when I visit here, I always check the "live help"

I think it is worded just fine, no matter what the mods do here or any other site, people are simply not going to read like azraies asking a viewsat question in this thread.
