How about a sports pick of the week contest... prize could be 1 month free vip access... there are enough sports where it could be a year round contest, with football, hockey, baseball, basketball, even ufc... you take the entire set of games for that week, call your picks... whoever gets the most picks right, their prize is one month free vip access... at the end of the season, whoever gets best over all wins a grand prize of vip for life?

My question is who will keep track of all these sports picks. All us mods have jobs and work for a living and most have family's to spend time with. Getting one of us to keep track and tally all the scores would be a little difficult.

I would be willing to administer the contest for a test run through the rest of football season in exchange for a free vip gold account... would only need a mod to verify the tallies each Tuesday... we open the entries Thursday at midnight EST, with a thread listing that weeks games, people message their picks to whoever administers the contest, say cutoff time Saturday, midnight, est... entries limited to the first 50 entries received, determined by timestamp...the results and totals are posted in the thread by Tuesday, midnight EST... that gives time for the results to be tallied and verified by a mod. the weekly winner, if more than one person picks the same number of winners, , would be the determined by the first entry received... if we keep the list open, in a thread, any changes or edits to the post invalidates the entry... otherwise, we keep the thread closed, and only the administrator of the contest can list the picks into it, for public verification purposes. if it is an open thread, any edits to the picks after it is posted voids the entry. only the first posted entry is accepted, only one entry per person, verified by ip address, so no multiple account entries from one person. the board, admin and mods cannot be held responsible for any loss of data due to database failure, technical problems, act of god, and so forth and such items void all entries... i think that covers the fine print... what do you think? do i have a job and a contest test run?

good idea for a contest but need to keep it REAL SIMPLE. experience dictates that anything over one action or something that involves reading will screw the whole deal

I think it is a good idea,but as was said it's gonna take time to administer.
