also Note.



you are ics the wireless connection.

hopefully you are logged in as the administrator of the computer.

if for some resaon you decide to upgrade to Win XP or above MAKE sure you have the latest BIOS on the laptop and that it will support Xp or above ..

also newest service pack for that Win 2000

the wireless connection to the ethernet connection ..

start > settings > network and dail up connections> right click on the icon for your wireless connection>
at the top there are 5 tabs
general
options
security
networking
SHARING click this tab

check the box for 'ENABLE INTERNET CONN.....

and then ok

well to be honest not sure what i am doing 3 connections avaible connection3 LAN NIC .... second LAN mini adapter (not connected), and thirdly wirless receiving internet connection, sorry going by memory, it appears the NIC card connection will work with the sharing tab, but the wirelless connection will not allow me to click the tab to use the Internet sharing something about "an error occured when using ICS", once again going by memory right now.

the answer to that is Yes i need to click the sharing tab for both correct so they use one IP address? correct?

you need to do this while you are in front of it ..

also make sure what service pack u have on the win 2000

start >settings>control panel>system and in that tab it will tell u what service pack you have you should be @ 4

in the same screen click hareware tab> device manager and make sure there are no RED or yellow x's or the like
