as far as i can see i have done this correctly, but still no green light on KHUB, or tv. I am using a crossover cable, do i perhaps not use a crossover cable because of my setup, maybe just use regular cable? Network settings in kbox don't seem to reconize or match ip address on computer, similer but not getting the same.

the computer's ethernet connection will be 192.168.0.1 and it become your ROUTER now

so in kbox

it should look something like this

ip 192.168.0.100 ( these 3 nubers could be anthing between .002 and .253 and will work
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
default gateway 192.168.0.1
dns will be what ever is being picked up from isp

if the "old" days yes most times crossover needed, but now most things have auto-sensing ports,

sump, the pc's IP would be whatever IP the router he is getting signal from gives him, chances are it will be something like 192.168.0.100 (D-link) or 192.168.1.100 (Linksys).
The IP 192.168.0.1 IP you listed will be that of the possible gateway he is connected to.

Also to the OP,

When you enter an IP into the Kbox, make sure you are entering it right. 192.168.0.1 would be entered as 192.168.000.001 . Whenever there is a single digit you have to add the leading zeros back.

well, gary, actually ..in win 2000 it is more like router then bridge

so the WAN side or in his case the wireless would be a DHPC address from his dlink or linksys,

but on the LAN side which would be his ethernet connection this side actully becomes a DHPC server with the assigned address (default) of
192.168.0.1

and it will pass out many other address with that scheme, say up put in a 24 port switch and plugged in 23 things thay would all get ip etc directly from the WIN 2000 computer, u can even enable NAT behind this too. ports, UDP/TCP settings it is powerful in its own right, use this type of setup when router where very expensive, 2 ehternet cards and it was the landing zone ..
