"They came and took dish 500 plus off the mast and put a dtv on it. I asked what the dtv installer was going to do with the DPP500. He said sell it on ebay. Told me he made over 200 bux a month selling dish stuff he removed from apts on ebay "

I do not know about your laws where you might live but I do know about the laws where I live and one of the laws says that if anyone uses any kind of permanent bracket to attach an antenna then by law you own it. Like for instance someone puts a carpet into an apartment you own and tacks down the carpet this carpet now belongs to the landlord and removing it by any one except the landlord could get that person in some serious trouble.

in south carolina thats the way it is too,anything attached permanently to the dwelling is property of the owner and you cannot take it without his permission.

I beleive their loophole is the boot at the bottom is whats perminate, the rest can be removed. As a matter of fact DN's contract states you must return their equipment, stb and lnb's are named.

Hey Turk,
I would think the only way around this would be the "Free Equipment" offer. If they offer the equipment free with your subscription, the you could claim that you own it, after all if you give something FREE you give up ownership of it tehcnically!

That Free Statement means you dont have to buy it, they will give it to you to use while your paying for their service. And remember after the initial receiver they still charge for addition connections, a couple of bux a month per receiver and extra for pvr receivers. theres nothing free, lol
