FTA +Terrestrial

I enjoy reading these forums, thanks for all the effort.
If some could answer a question for me it would much appreciated.
I am looking to buy a
FTA Receiver HD mpeg2/mpeg4 DVB-S2 with Terrestrial Tuner
like the VIEWSAT 9000HD.
Does any one know if the Terrestrial Tuner part will control a
DiSEqC switch as I have 4 terrestrial antennas all pointed at
different stations and wound like to use DiSEqC switch
to auto select.
Thanks

I could be wrong, but I don't think that a DiSEqC switch will work because I think that a DiSEqC switch is meant only for satellite signals which use a higher frequency bandwidth than the terrestrial over the air local signals. I think that what you should use is a coupler to join your 4 antennas into a single input and then you could plug it into the Viewsat 9000HD. At that point the receiver should be able to pick up the terrestrial over the air local signals. You should note that the receiver will only pick up the digital signals so if you live in Canada and are still picking up your local analog signals with your 4 antennas, then the receiver will not pick up those analog signals.

I'm not 100% certain that it will work out for you but that is the approach that I would take. Let me know if it works out for you. I am in a similar situation with multiple terrestrial antennas in different directions as well. Another HD receiver which has a dual tuner is the Sonicview 8000HD. You might want to read up on that receiver as well.

EddieMania is correct, diseqc is only used for sat dishes.

You can indeed couple multiple terrestrial antenna inputs into one single cable so all 4 antenna signals are on a single terrestrial cable.
