Yes it is IKS and yes if set - up properly can be used for any provider including DTV. But you must be connected to the internet all the time that you are watching it.

The slinger can be used on any DN receiver. I am not sure on FTA.

It will give you only what the card sharing sub is subscribed to.

IKS = Card Sharing.

I wouldn't touch IKS with a 10 foot pole.

Another "Majic" card, lmao..........

I agree with blinky123 on the IKS. A small network between friends is one thing but connecting to a commercial server is risky. Not to mention the possibility of them selling all their inventory and then dropping off of the map leaving the end user hanging in the breeze. Won't be the first time that has happened.........

Now I am confused, are we talking slingbox? As I have never heard of a slinger!
I have the Slingbox Pro HD and it works great, and yes it hooks to the internet but is not IKS.
So please clue me in on what you are speaking of.

Thanks

The "slinger" is a card sharing device over the internet and is nothing to do with the Slingbox Pro HD.

Hey is that the nfusion server? LOL. I agree, I would want to stay away from that for sure but it would sure cut down on the price of a sub.

$200+ per TV for them ....... I rather run plastic, the real deal..... Often imitated but never duplicated.

Thumbs down Discussion

For now I will close this thread we are waiting for the Falcon to return to decide on a site policy, regarding the "Slinger" given that it uses DN proprietary equipment and cards it is a GREY area at this point.

I can say that as of now the staff have agreed 100% that this technology is something we are not interested in.
