Well, for 1 thing you need a tuner. That would mean a card.

They exist! Under the DVB section, those are PCs that act as FTA's with an add-in card.

I have been running emulation for over 6 years. Just starting to look at the boxes. You have given me a point to start from. Thanks

Sorry for my ignorance but is Neusat just a clone? Of what?

... still thinking.

.. i haven't started yet. But I will, and for now, I'm collecting as much info I can get as to what is the best receiver for me. I guess if I finally chose one and it worked for a couple of months ... I would be very happy. And if it worked for more than a year ... I will be very happy, same happiness whether couple of months or a year. I just want to have that thing work when I start buying. Hope things will go smooch on mine.

Ok here is my NOOB question:

I got this awsome computer sitting here, right (duh..) so why can't I use this for the emulation(?) side - or something like that...

Please try to remember that I am a noob (just got this the middle of June 2006 - lol - so I got 2 sweet weeks of tv out of the last bin - lol)

However, the only reason I do have to try and ask something like this - well -
Just as I was getting into computers several years ago now... the person I bought it from was also selling dedicated computer systems (P1 class...) to switch the keys (i think) faster than the it could be hit... thus, ran uninterupted...

so - if these boxes (my Multistar Maximum 2500 - lol) are 2 slow - and it can be hooked up to the computer... then can any amount of computing power sitting here be put to any good use to the cause of FTA?????? Something to may be thing about???
thanks
