What exactly does the rom 102 card do

Being new to the hobbie, what does the R102 card do, can you use the card from an old legal box and reprogram it, or do you have to buy one of the R102 cards, the reader are available for around $50 is not bad but for the price but for what they want for a card as well, you can get a viewsat and wait for the cardless fix.

so can you use an old card, and if yes how would you program it?

Falcon,

Have been testing DB for some time now (7020 & 7025), and in general agree with your observations. However, the wife never liked them, why? The remote is very unconventional, and has too many options. These boxes are nice for testers, but for them to realy catch on they will have to become more simple for the end users.

I'm buying new and it sounds like viewsat is the way to go! Out with the clone in with viewsat.
