How To Tell A Lnb Is Good One?

I bought three LNBs as the spare. I changed one LNB three times before I got the signal and quality in good level. Up and down from the roof in these days is tough.
Can you tell me, how to test the LNB before putting on?
Thank you in advance!

What I need is an exact list of specific unknown problems we might encounter.

There no meter for a good lnb . You can try hooking up the lnb in the dish not properly mounted at least you got 30% signal then it shows your lnb is working.

I usually set up my dishes on the ground first, just to save me from going up the ladder too much. That way I know that everything is good before I mount it on the roof. Good luck

There is no way of telling unless your dish is already picking up Birds. If not maybe you know someone that will let you use thiers to test your LNB,s. You can always invest in a signal meter. Some are as cheap as $15.00 new. The good ones are a little expensive. Great to have, I found one at a pawn shop,Channel Master. Always good to have if you know what I mean.
