network problem for Kbox plus

Today 02:26 PM - mihaela
I have a new Kbox receiver with a new k hub 09001, I connected everything together, I installed the latest bin(185), I changed the mode from stand alone to networking, I changed under network setting to DHCP. I do have in the back of the hub the green and orange LED on but I cannot get the network IP number into the receiver and the screen is faded and it tells me the module in not connected. I used the cream colour cable to connect the hub to the receiver. Now on the faded screen it appears an Ip number that doesn't belong to me. I rebooted the network systhem and the same network cable works when i connect it to another receiver(Nfusion). Please advice me what I can do to solve this problem. Thanks.

Cool Ip address

The IP address that is appearing in the faded box is the one being assigned to the KBox by your router... (the router assigns a different IP to each device so there is no conflict, so you won't get the same IP on your KBox as the nfusion of your PC).

When your trying to connect make sure you are on a working nag 2 or Nag 3 channel. then it could take a few minutes espceially the first time to connect.

I am assuming your hub did not come with a Black cable. If it didn't then it is already activated if it did come with the black cable then it needs to be activated.

Cool Yes

The window is noramlly greyed out in DHCP

Try this

Unplug

Modem
router
khub

Then turn KBox off from the rear.

Plug in

Modem
Router
turn ON Kbox
plug in Khub

If you are trying to load any activation file, this is the one you should be using as its the newest.

Hi to all
I struggle with the same problem mihaela has. My k-hub is one year old, never used, model ' FTC-08002-0500823. Came only with the short cream cable. ( My K1 has been updated to the K1 plus version)
I did all what is written by Gary and Hedo regardin this problem, but it does not connect the receiver to the router. Stays with red light and says " MODULE NOT CONNECTED". So I bought a Null modem Cable to do the activation (even it is said the Hub should be activated) with the new _2.0 File. Tried two different computers but get stuck on the connecting screen on all com ports. I checked the cables and they are fine. Null modem has crossed 2.and 3. pin, cream cable goes right thru on pin 2., 3.and 5.
I live in the carribean so it is difficult for me to just change the k-Hub. Any suggestions from the Pro´s

When activating the Khub use the black cable and the p activation file. It is important to do it in the right order or you will see the loader trying to connect and it won't load. Here is the order to do things.
First open loader and find the khub p file on your computer
Now power up the Khub
Now connect the black cable to the Khub and then to the computer
Now start the loader program and it should connect and load correctly

Power down the Khub and disconnect it from your computer. Unplug your Kbox and connect the Khub to the back with the cream colored cable. Power up the Khub and then the Kbox and go to network and try to connect. If it doesn't then power down everything to the router and wait three minutes and then power everything up, router then Khub then Kbox. It should connect to the network now. Good luck.

Thank you, did that all what you describe a couple of times. Have read all postings around the k-hub. But mine still does not connect not to the computer nor the router. Still need help.

Only the 8003 and 9001 hubs need activation and users should use the new 2.0 activation.
