Prodigy WI-FI Antenna Computer Hookup

Well as time progresses into blackness of no TV , I am kickin the K-Box idea. Like everything else there is a learning curve and some unfounded answers to questions I have regarding A WI-FI hookup. Why, WI-FI do you ask? Well mainly, security.
The K- Boxes have the hubs and networking hookups that have ethernet ports but a general WI-FI hookup like mine consists of my Antenna, a WI-FI card that is attached to the antenna via a 2 foot cable that is N connector to USB. The USB goes into the card then on the other side of the card is a likewise USB output to attach USB extension cables to the USB input to the computer.
My question is, with this particular setup, saying that I do not attach a 4-12 port router or hub can I not just buy one of the cable accessories that they sell that change the USB cable input to a serial input, that goes directly to the K-BOX . That way I can go from my USB to serial input directly to the Prodigy reciever without all the dongle, networking adapters,IHUB's that only would drive my price up and in essence, if used in a regular configuration this way, in a cable/DSL internet hookup, would only jeopardize my safety from prying eyes and possible law intervention. Unlock this question. Whaddu ya say? Will it work or not? Has anyone tried this or done this? If not is there or what is the best, cheapest way to secure my safety in WI-FI and save from buying unneeded accessories?

To share the connection from your pc without a router you need to set up ICS (internet connection sharing) and run a "cross over type" ethernet cable from the LAN port on the pc to the Khub.

ARRGGGHHH, Well I got that outta my system, and wowee gee whizz thanks for the fast response fellers. So GG, you say here I need a cross over type thingy. Hmm, so if I may, I would like to explore this a bit more. The K-Hub i imagine utilizes ethernet type connections on it's input and output. So this crossover thingy could it, can it, will it change the ethernet over to USB for the input to my laptop etc.? I am trying my best to use the USB , because my daughter once tripped over the ethernet cable that was attached to this laptop, and when she did it broke the ethernet plastic input connection to an unusable condition. It may be time to order the part for replacement?

you would need a usb to cat5 adapter but still need the khub. the khub is db9 straight cable from the hub to the stb and cat5 from the internet.
