Do you have any kind of laws or status to back up what you are saying?
I found the property boundary lines laws for California real estate law in a real estate salesperson's training book. It is one of the primary things you learn to be a licensed real estate sales person...the fundamental principles of real estate...That the property owner possesses all of the property real...all the ground extending around his place above and below...from the land surface extending to the center of the earth ...and all the sky above it. That is real estate LAW...you can research for that yourself. That gives the owner sole possession of mineral rights straight to the center of the earth thus...one owns any oil...and all natural gas and minerals...gold platinum...whatever below and within the boundaries of his land. And including the sky above in the same respect...the sky and all it's contents. Thus...none of us are signal pirates as DishNet would falsely call us to threaten us and try to ashame us from tapping their signals freely...to dissuade nonpaying usage...to make us pay......and we are on legal ground...long as we are on our own roof/property doing it.
But...who knows...maybe someone slipped some new law in I'm unaware of...although I never heard that yet...so I do hope some attorneys respond...but I seriously doubt it...who knows. Far as I honestly know...the real estate laws apply and we are all(whoever taps sat signals) all doing a legal thing...breaking no laws due to the real estate fact...and is probly why no one I know of who has done so has been penalized...But that is only as far as I personally know...
I will try to find an online site with the real estate laws of ownership property boundary laws written out and well...we are not permitted to post links? Is that true? I wonder why not? I see no harm in link posting...someone please explain that to me...as I seem to have missed that explanation if it is here...ok thanks -Voop

Tell you what...for your information...go to Answers.com be sure the "ALL" circle is doted in to choose topics...and type in the 2 separate words REAL ESTATE...next, just hit the red "GO" button
Then scroll down to where they post a diagram of property ownership boundary lines.
Then...you tell me...OK?

You're welcome,

Voop, you may be technically correct. I personally think it wouldn't hold up in court. I do agree with you in principle, a judge may not.

See the post just above the one you just placed...and do the Answers.com thing I said...and look at the diagram...of property ownership boundaries...
See...all the sky contents belong to the owner...that is the law.
Thus...once the satellite signals enter your airspace, they legally become your property.
But...go head ...inquire with a real estate lawyer...you can find them online and some will answer for free...and some may not even know the answer I bet...But I know what I know and you own your air space and everything anyone puts in it.
See...what right have they to invade your airspace with their signals? None....The signals are your property soon as they enter your property lines.
THEY are the trespassers in a sense...they are the guilty party for entering your space without permission...legally. Yet they have the audacity to call us names...to falsely criminalize us...calling us "pirates and thieves"...while they send their signals onto our property...I wonder if they aren't legally the perpetrators? Or maybe they considered all this before they started sending the signals and got some legal clearance to trespass our air space...I may just research that...somehow...myself...

You're welcome,
-Voop

I think you are correct, everything in the sky above like DN signals do become your property, however, there are statutes that make decrypting an encrypted signal illegal. So intercepting the signal is not against the law, decrypting it is.

If I'm not mistaken...once it becomes my property I am totally free to with it as I choose. But you have a good legal question...I just feel what is now mine...is mine to do with as I see fit.
