nuvenio SD vs. solaris/nova

A quick question to anyone that has actually used the SD and solaris/nova - does the extra memory and different CPU in the SD make the menu navigation and channel changing any faster? I'm planning on picking up one or the other this friday, and this would be a deciding factor.

It should, but wondering how many actually bought solaris and SD at the same time to compare.

You're right that it's probably not a lot of people. Still, I can see someone picking up the SD first and then getting a nova/solaris later for a second less important TV.

One of the shops I plan to go to has a live demo of the solaris. If I get an SD I'll try to familiarize myself with the speed and see if I experience anything different at home - that way I can answer my own question, in case anybody else cares.

Thanks for the reply!

The Solaris is the same unit as the Nova. The thing that is impressive about the Nuvenio model is the fact that it runs COOLER. The set-up was totally a breeze and seems faster than the Nova. The only thing I have noticed, and have heard others say this, is the first number in the digital display is weak, meaning that it is not fully lighted. I don't know if it will eventually go completely out, or not.

And just to add the Solaris is the same as the NOVA just different packaging.

So if your looking to a slightly better unit go with the SD.
