Can't connect

i have a Fortec Ultra ... tryin to make it a 2700 ... i'm using a Null cable ... female on both ends ...
I final found a readme thats says usb o serial ??? is this the only cable that will work doing this are will the Null i have work ? thx for any help

you need a straight thru cable for the fortec.

does your PC/laptop have a serial port? if so just use the cable, if not, you'll need a usb adaptor.

yes com 1 ... i have tryed 2 different pc's one lap and one desk and 3 different cable's (all null) cant connect)

if you are using the usb adaptor, you need to install the driver for it. it should have come with a cd or you can download it online at the manufacture website.
after installing it, try com port 5 or 6.

The cable i'm using is from my 3500sd ... this is the only box i have ever messed with .... im tryin to get this one goin for a friend .... again thx for any and all help

The cable is the problem.

You need a straight thru cable not a null cable.
