Confused

First I would like to wish all a Happy Thanksgiving!! I have a dish 1000 with 119,110 and 129. I have added a power inserter to the second connection on the LNB. First connection goes to my 3500sd. I found instructions on this sight to setup and align dish and 3500. I can scan 119 fine, all is good. I covered 110 on the lnb with tin foil while i was geting position correct for 119. When I go to the pansat setup to 110 per instructions from here I have a 99 signal with 110 covered with foil. 3500 set up is 119 dish pro lnb disqe 1. 110 dish pro lnb disqe 2. very confused????? Thanks in advance for you help

You may not need a power inserter. Try running one cable direct from lnb port #1 to the 3500. Then aim at 119. When you have signal locked good on 119, the 110 and 129 should automatically be aimed for you. Set disqe#1 for 119, disqe#2 for 110, and disqe#3 for 129. When you connect two cables to your lnb, it disables the internal switch.

Also, turn the LNB power OFF for the ones your not scanning or trying to aim at.

When I first installed the 1000 i had one cable connected to the 3500. I would lose signal trying to switch between 119 and 110. My understanding is I can connect 3 recievers to the lnb's and the switch is internal.cable coming from Port 1 is connected to 3500 .the cable coming from connection 2 is only hooked to the power inserter.

Dispatcher,
How do you control the power for the LNB's? I am not at home so I am working from memory and notes.

I am getting 350+ channels form 119. I am missing all the news channels and some others I would like to have. Went to lyngsat to get tp of channels I am missing and its not up to date. I guess what is confusing me most of all is how I can have signal on a LNB with is covered with tin foil?

Sound like you have a DP Plus LNB. If you do it should have port 1, port 2, and input. Your 129 LNB should be connected to the input ans port 1 or 2 would go directly to you 3500. That should be all you need to make your 3500 work. Put 119 on port1 and 110 on port2 in the antenna settings.

Looker

Lyngsat is behind on updating channel listings. If you're getting 350 that pretty close to what you should get.

That is the LNB I have and have it hooked up the same way you described ftalooker..... the only thing different is the the power inserter is hooked to port 2. I read here that the DP Plus LNB was a power hog and the 3500 needed help, thats why I installed the power inserter.

PS provide enough power. Try removing the inserter and see what happens. Also move it to port #2 and see what happens. What are your antenna settings?
