Need Info Re The Hookup On New Inverter

Folks, I'm not super certain I'm on the correct site--joined because I saw a reference to "inverter installation". If that fits, great. If not, my apologies.

I'm about to rig up my first wind turbine installation for electrical power to our off grid home. Just received the power inverter I ordered. Looks great but does have one feature that caught me slightly off guard: On the "hookup end", it has well marked positive and negative terminals...but surprisingly it has two sets of each, not one.

My questions:

1. Are these intended for situations involving more than one DC power source? Such as, say, one input from a solar installation and one input from a wind installation?

2. If I'm working with only one power source--which I am, a single bank of deep cycle batteries--do I use just one of the two sets...or hook up both sets to the same battery posts?
