Exclamation How should I post on this site?

<satellite receiver of some type>
FILE DOWNLOAD & UPLOAD ONLY!!! NO QUESTIONS--NO DISCUSSIONS!!!
  • As the header of the title says, NO QUESTIONS - NO DISCUSSIONS!!
  • These are Files areas reserved for posting of FILES for your receiver. It is NOT a discussion forum or for posting questions. Post in the discussion forums for your receiver type. You'll see all kinds of other questions there so you know you're in the right area.
Please... NO SATELLITE QUESTIONS!!!
  • In forums where you see NO SATELLITE QUESTIONS!!! don't post satellite questions. Simple enough. Always read the TITLE of a forum before posting and ask yourself, "Am I in the right area?"
Before posting a Question of any sort...
  • Did you do a search (top of the page, blue bar) for your tiopic and try to find your answer? Always do that first and foremost instead of asking the same question that has been answered over and over again...
DON'T Post "are we down?", "we're down", "when is a fix coming?" messages...
  • These are considered LAME posts. They are time and bandwidth (data useage) wasters.. We always know we're down, and all fixes are posted as soon as they become available. People may mock you if you post these kinds of posts...
POST your question only ONCE...
  • Do not cross-post to numerious forums and threads. Pick the best thread relating to your specific question and wait for an answer..
THREAD-JACKING
  • That's when you post in a thread off topic. For instance, a thread discussing Viewsat receivers with HD (high definition) and you post a question here asking about Pansat receivers or any other question OFF-TOPIC... Stay on TOPIC or join in a thread dealing with your specific topic.
Posting LINKS
  • NO LIVE links outside dssrookie site
  • click on NEW thread
  • click on insert link
  • type your link
  • if outside link (not to other FTA sites or dealers = no advertising) just type hxxp://www..... and it will NOT be a live link if you use hxxp in the front.
Post TITLES
  • Make it meaningful and informative. Members should know what you want before opening your posted thread...
  • ie. NOT "I need help", but "Can't get signal strength over 80 on my receiver!"
Feel free to add more to this post and we'll incorporate them here...

Go to the Viewsat section and look in the guides, there is lots of info there. If afdter reading you dont understand something then start your own thread and ask.
