NDS Bringing Macrovision Guides to Set-Top Line

Set-top box software developer NDS on Monday announced that it had entered into a multi-year licensing deal with Macrovision Solutions Corporation for the use of its electronic program guide (EPG) patents.

Under terms of the agreement, NDS will be able to offer Macrovision's Gemstar licensed EPGs to its pay-TV operator clients in certain countries, although the specific countries were not released. Financial terms of the licensing agreement were also not available as of post time.
