sv8000HD hookup Help

Hi... I got 2 sv8000s and so far got 2 dp500 dishes with dual lnbs inside (not hooked up yet). Also got an old small dish with 119 lnb and 110 missing that kind of works. I connected to the receiver and scanned. It found all the channels with 60% signal and 78% quality...however only few TP's show quality. The rest of the TP's show no quality...and of course the corresponding channels don't work. So I get only few dozen channels working this way. I wonder if the lnb is bad or the box has a problem. Also should I kill this existing one and install the 2 DP500's? Can I use the Desq switches that came with the box? Also to have two receivers will I need a multiplexer...and what kind? (looks like the lnbs are single). Any help will be appreciated.

Look here and tell us what the lnbs on the two dish 500s are.

Here is an update: I got so far 2 dish 500's....each having dual dish pro lnbfs. No matter what I do...I only get 110 from it...no 119. I'm using the desq that came with sv8000HD boxes. I even pointed the dish using website and getting 100% quality. However no 119 signal. At this point thinking of purchasing the multilnb dishes and get it over with. Any advise?

BTW u must have the module to see all channels on [HD] on dn bundle. The best way and cost effective is to purchase a dish 1000.2 w/the 3 lnb's and you got quite a bit of HD's. My Actually HD is not cheap as u need the module and u should get the 1000.2 and I think at the outset it is worth to get the whole shooting match.

Dont use disq switches with the dp lnbs u are only looking for problems. use the proper dp switches or use a switch 21 or 22khz switch to toggle between the two dishes. You can make things work with the proper switching and cables. In the long run u will be much more happy with a 1000.2

Thank you so much for the tips....but in order to get 119 118.7 110 and 129 can I use 1000.2 for 119, 118.7 and 129 and leave one of my dish 500 to catch the 110. Right now the one thing I get with any of the dish 500 is the 110 anyways. So with this and 1000.2 can I just get one dp44 and hook everything up to it and connect 2 receivers to it?

Actually with the 1000.2 u can get a 4 lnb setup or u can use the 3 setup & add an xtra one(lnb) as it has an xtra connection on the 3 lnb setup. I personally use the 3 lnb (110,119,129) and it provides all the channels I can use. If u desire you can set it up as u want incl.using the dish 500.... as it is a fine ant but u really do not need it. my

I ended up ordering 1000 + w/ dp44. I guess I can use this to get all 4 of the signals and salvage my old 500 and the desq switch. Just wondering if there is anything else I might need besides the dp44 and the 1000+ system.

U made a good decision and ur on the right trac, but read this link as it is sometimes tedious at best dialing in the ant. Btw i personally have never used the dp44 and know nothing 'bout it. HAPPY THANKSGIVING

try scanning without switch i think dp500 has a built in switch
