Supporting Vendors?

I'm interested in upgrading to an HD receiver (Viewsat), but I don't see any supporting vendors on this site like I'm accustomed to on car forums I belong to. Do we have any here cuz I can't see any? I would much rather deal with a vendor that is known and trusted and who pays for the priviledge to advertize here. Thanks!

I did see Transat, (The ad with the nFusion logo), carries the VS 9000 and their service has always been outstanding.

So, I just finished ordering a ViewSat 9000 HD (Version 2) from Transat, $504.79 CAD out the door! Hope this thing will complement my new Pioneer plasma TV.

One thing I didn't notice however was any mention for discounts to forum members like most other car forums vendors seem to do. Personally I think that would be a smart business move. I'm all for giving props for sales/service, but this was just a "business" transaction.

Vendors and supporting members are what keep sites going and pay the bills.

Unfortunately, due to the competitiveness of the market the margins for MOST dealers are razor thin, and to offer discounts would be difficult not to mention many site sponsors sponsor several sites so they would have to give the deals to everyone.

Our sponsors do from time to time offer "specials" to members, IE at the moment Transat, is offering and exchange deal bring in any old receiver and receive $50 off a brand new K-Box unit, (see their website for further details). For me with the prices being pretty uniform across the board service is the ONE thing where dealers can shine and as you experienced Transat's customer service is top notch.

Yep, I hear ya on that. One thing for sure is I certainly can't complain about the service from Transat. Ordered Friday afternoon and received my box this afternoon. You simply can't beat that! Also, the box was well packed and arrived in perfect condition from Canada Post. Only thing is they left it on my door step cuz I wasn't home. Good thing I must have honest neighbours!!!

So when all is said and done I'd recommend Transat to all. Thanks to everyone who replied in this thread as well!

In my last post I said Transat is offering $50 off the K-Box when you turn in an older stb.

This is WRONG the offer extends to the NEOsat receivers. So turn in an older unit and get a brand new NEOsat, (which has been up using IKS throughout the latest MECM's.

Sorry for the CONfusion, (if you visit their website you will get it)...LOL
