FTA Status:

11/15/09--> No Stand-Alone Files at this time

There are NO stand-alone files for any FTA stb, or any publically posted N3 solutions for plastic and atmega. There are rumors of private plastic hacks but NO proof has been provided at this point. To this date, the only work-around solutions are done via IKS/ICS or whatever alphabet soup brands want to label their internet card sharing. All work on the same basic principal. Some use public servers, while others like Dreambox use private servers where there is a monthy fee. As for the safety of internet cardshare, it is recommended to use caution although at this time there are NO North American IKS busts for end users. For info on different brands involved with this type of solution, go to those areas of the forums to get more details and info on what they offer.

07/18/09--> There has been loads of speculation as to what happens next in the FTA industry given the recent events that have unfolded (DN vs. Viewsat court case 07/13/09). Check the following thread for info: Viewsat Owners Busted. . Everyone who has an opinion seems to want to voice it on many of the FTA forums. You will hear all kinds of stuff from people who claim to know somebody who knows somebody, or from someone who claims to be some sort of Philly lawyer. It all makes for amusing reading, but is 99% crapola. The bottom line is that we will have to wait to see what plays out. As of today (after bust), new Telephonica files for Viewsat were posted. This tells us that coders are still on the job. I'm not a Viewsat insider or coder...but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn a few nights ago. Lets play nice with others folks.

06/24/09--> All of the remaining encrypted channels have been switched over to N3. This will pretty much just leave us with Nasa, Angel, and some Ion channels left. Now we must all sit back and wait patiently to see what the coders can do for us. This applies to all testing methods...FTA, Atmega, and Plastic.

NO need to hang around refreshing your browser waiting for files. You are just clogging up the site making it difficult for file people to post them.

Units using IKS/ICS (Internet Key/Card Sharing) such as Nfusion are running. That means it is connected to the internet and relies on an aux server to get its video authorization "keys" to the clients. It does'nt stream over the internet, but they are getting the keys from a open rom 102,103 application and then sending through IKS. You do expose yourself to giving your IP ADDY to those that want it to track you down though.

N3 FILES Available?

There are NO N3 files available for any receiver at this time. Google adds that appear on many of these types of forums are SCAMS

-> During peak times when there is a lot of activity on the site, if you do not see a solution, then check back later. If everyone simply hangs on the site waiting for a fix, then the people that actually have them, cannot log on to post them. This happened this week. At that point you become part of the problem and not the solution.
