Apple App Store now at 1.5 billion downloads

On April 24th, Apple announced that customers had downloaded more than one billion iPhone and iPod touch applications from its App store. Today, less than three months after announcing the billionth download, Apple said it had reached the 1.5 billion download mark.In less than 12 weeks, Apple customers have downloaded 500,000,000 applications which translates into almost 42 million per week, 6 million per day, 250,000 per hour or just under 70 apps per second!
