kbox heroes and kbox prodigy? (MERGED)

Are k-box heroes and k-box prodigy, same receiver (same bin files, or functions...)??? I´m .

They are basically the same but as far as I know do not take the same file. I havent loaded the Pro yet but I belive they both have the same features and and menus..The Pro is just a continuation of the Plus since most dealers are out of Plus units...

They are both virtually the same the first bin 1.85 for the PROdigy was just released a few hours ago, (You can use the SAME loader for either unit). The PRO has it's own bin and the PLUS has their own bin, but ALL the features etc are EXACTLY the same the PROdigy is sligthly less tall than the PLUS, but it is about 1/2" wider, and 3/4" less deep. It also has rounded buttons on the front and the rear connectors are in different locations.

The MAIN difference is that the PLUS uses a STRAIGHT thru cable to connect the HUB to the serial port whereas the PROdigy uses a NULL MODEM cable. I have yet to load the PROdigy unit via the cable but it likely it uses a NULL MODEM for that as well.

As for the PVR etc all the features are available (I have yet to try a recording).

MOD Edit: That was dispelled LONG ago and you obviously don't know what your talking about or just trying to stir up old crap that MANY members have been banned for.
Now that they got rid of old hardware, they made a new box outer with small difference in hardware and called it Kbox Prodgy.
Files are different for them but functions are almost the same.

The Prodigy is a new unit with a factory installed chip. A little smaller than the Plus and a new face.

All functions of the PLUS and the PRO are the exact same.

Kbox plus edition is a modified version of Kbox Heros. The Kbox team has put the chip in plus editions after recall for free, the remaining units the sellers have it, is all with the chip. The one with factory installed on mother board is the latest Prodigy.

i will be geting a kbox but not sure if will get the K1 Heros Plus Edition or the K1 PROdigy what are your recomdations

They both have the exact same features and both are excellent receivers.
Most dealers have run out of Plus models so you will most likely be getting a PROdigy. Makesure you get the Khub too as you will need it if you want to use iks or the weather reports.
