Blinking signal strength

I can get birds like 110, 119, 123. There is a bird...or something that causes my signal quality to blink. It goes from lets say 70 to zero repeatedly. The quality varies, but it always goes quickly to zero in a blinking fashion. This bird seems to be at around 101. It flashes quickly...what the heck is this? Is this a satellite, or something else? I've seen this signal over the years....it's nothing new that has happened....just wonding what it is. I'm trying hard to find 101 now, and it's pretty wierd. It doesn't matter what kind of LNB I use...it always happens in that spot.

I would say it is 101w amc4

I have just finished up setting up a 36" dish and motor and like you said I could see other satellites as the motor moved across the sky and I saw this one that would flash repeatedly from 0-100 or so back and forth. I was wanting to get the History channel and looking at a sat list I could find the sat before 101w and after 101w so I figured that might be it. I have a viewsat and the factory sat list only had TP settings for amc4 in the c-band range way less than 11000 and up more like 4000 or so. I manually entered TP settings from lyngsat and then did a blind scan and sure enough there was amc4 showing up. I then went in my sat list and set it up and saved the information and everything has been working great.

dont touch your 22KHZ settings. It sounds lilke you have the wrong port selected on your switch. dont mix your circular with linear (example: dont use the circular on AMC otherwise it can cause quality to bounce)

Hope this helps.

Ahhhh...I never thought about that...maybe I did only see the blinking when using the wrong LNB. Regardless, I found AMC4 for the first time, and got three channels. I didn't get the history channel, but two Spanish and one English channel. Nothing really to make me too excited. Thanks for your help.

History is on amc4

Go back and enter the TP list on lyngsat for amc4 and rescan you will get history and bio channel. The history and bio channel on amc4 seems to be for some hotel network but it is the same channel and in HD.

Those are two cool channels so I might just pull my big dish out again and give it another try.
