help

OK , I set up my dish which is a 36 fortec with a sonicview premier receiver and sg 2100 motor. followed instructions and got what I think is 101w AMC4 after alot of messing around. I got 3abn and about 6 other religious and foreign channels. consistently got it every time i asked for AMC 4 on the reciever and the channels are clear. I cannot get history or bio channel. I entered the tp manually and did a blind scan and still only got 7 channels. I could not get any signal on any other sattelites. I don't really know what I am doing wrong and need some help. On 101w I was getting 39 to 42 quality and bouncing up to 99. I tried adjusting manually up and down and side to side with no better results than that. Also my reciever does not have all the sattelites in its memory. do I just have to aim in that direction and hope for the best no matter what the receiver says is in that area then enter the tp? Thanks for any help I am sure I will have a bunch more dumb questions later.

Then you are no on it, enter there tp's manualy setup motor to your true south spin it to that tp and set it up there. Took me 5 min. T o be honest mine has always been setup and i find more channels leaving then coming so if you cant speak another language fta is going to be usless. Just my 3 cents

Amc4

I have a viewsat but have had similar problems. I am learning myself. I have been able to find 5 sats so far with free stuff to watch. amc4 was the second one I found and like you it was not in my sat list. what I did was pick a sat that was close to it that would show up and then with one of those cheap little sat meters inline I moved the dish manually with the east and west buttons until I got a signal from some sat. I then entered the tp's from lyngsat manually and then did a blind scan and watched what channels showed up. I was on amc4 but yet did not have history or bio. Then without moving the dish I went back to my antenna or sat setup page and setup a user sat for amc4 and then using diseq moved the dish to peak the signal and then save the location. Again I did a blind scan and this time history and bio came in. I have since used this method to find alot more sats that are not in my factory list. I have also noticed you may have to choose a stronger tp in your sat setup page to peak the signal. For me amc4 at first I found it as a blinking signal from 0-99 on and off repeatedly. Once I did a blind scan I was able to choose a tp that worked and now have 80-90percent on amc4.

No matter what anybody says the 22hz made a difference. I been testing different settings for a long time and I know for real. Another thing to know is that a cheap lnb 10750 can be use on 9750/10750 setting and pick up more channels . This is true for 97w and 30w etc... This really works for me and should work for everybody 'cause my stb are not better than anybody elses. People testing is the clue. All great discoveries are found by somebody that did not knew that that couldn't be done! Manny.

You have to know what the true south satellite is find out at dishpointer .com put in your location and it will give true south sat and long. and lat. and put those numbers in the usal section and save.Like my true s. sat. is 110w now with nag 3 110 (circluiar lnb setting 11250) will not work but gets good signal. I have changed satellites name and put in Tp's with remote and in usal change satellite location and save so motor will know were to go.I have 22 satellites programed in my pansat hd 9000 and sg2100 motor, same with the old fortec that i am retiring>Alot of sats. are put in by hand.
Once true south is found and you what to find GALAXY 28 @ 89 w you will go to lyngsat.com go to America 60w to 148w find G 28 @89 and get tps and put a few in by hand(enter tp. sr,and hor or vert. H or V)then after all is entered (lnb 10750 is Liniar disqe and swicth settings) move to the east and try to land a sig, go slow.
This took me a long time to set up not as experianced as others. How clear is the southern skys. I took a small tv out to the dish and set dish and true south that way. And is the pole or mount that the dish is on has to be true plum and level.
Iam always serching wild feeds with 33in small dish look in wild feed section for recent post.Still puting together 10ft dish c-band

Post up you exact Longitude and Latitude and you will get all the help you need.

A motor setup is governed by your longitude and the Sat closest to Due South of you.

Once that is tuned in -----all the other sats fall into place for you.

Do a little research on the Clarke Belt then you will understand the positioning of Sats and how motorized sat Dishes actually work.
