Paca, it looks like you're on the right bird, but RTV is sometimes super-picky to tune in and its channels are MUCH lower in strength than the NBC feeds. I've found that I get a max Q level of about 35 (3 bars on my Viewsat) and most days am lucky to get around 25. A single "click" east or west on the motor and the picture becomes unwatchable.

I'm not sure what you mean by "...from ja useing a 8footer". Is that Jamaica? If that's where you are, you're outside the main contour (see h++p://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/amc9_ku.html). I'm in the geographic area that theoretically should get the strongest signal and if RTV is marginal here, I would imagine it might be even tougher elsewhere.

Good luck. Hope this helps!

With all the problems people seem to have getting RTV (and I'm one of those people) I'm wondering if anyone has looked into the signal. If it's DVB-S2, that would explain why it seems so hard to get.

Wink

I tried with my 10 ft. bud and could get the nbc feed channel but never rtv,I tried off and on for a week or two.
Then I put up and old primestar dish and finaly got it.
I'm in KENTUCKY and get 35 to 55 quality.
Just a touch either way and I lose it.

Exclamation standard

oddly enough,I couldn't get that transponder with a universal lnb,(actualy 2 or 3 I tried).I had to use a standard ku linear lnb, then I was able to get it with 70% quality.

skew is the difference in degrees from your location to the longitude of the sat.So if you live at 83 degrees the skew would be zero, ect.
