pvr features on the VS 7000

Can you record a program via the EPG? or do you have to manually schedule the time and channel to record?
Do updated scripts come out the same time they do for Plat. or extreme, or is this reciever down more than the other viewsat recivers?
Does this reciever give the option to record the entire series of a program or record every showing of a program?

verry important when looking for a pvr. can i just select it from the epg or do i have to tell it when to record when to start stop channel etc etc. i just want to select it from the guide and tell it to record. and dose the reserve function with the pvr, so it will change channells automaticly and start recording on a different channel.

tring to decide wich would be better for me a VS 7000 or a CNX TRIO wich is the better pvr.

Hello

You can select it in EPG or record it while watching, and you can Reserve it
(These are the 3 functions in recording)
At this time you can only schedule time not names

I have a PVR7000 and I like it very much, came from the Tvio environment (had it from the beginning)

Took some getting used to the different styles

But I like the PVR7000 dual tuner, one thing Tvio couldnt do was Record two shows and then watch alive broadcast (the live broadcast will be on the same TP as being recorded)

If you are comparing the 7000 or any other stb to tvio your going to be greatly disappointed.

Tvio is a great tv watching tool, but as long as I can pause live tv I am ok(because of sports)

I am trying to figure out how to buy 2 more VS7000(but the new stuff coming from above has me waiting)

If I think of anything else I will let you know

I guess I could have given you this link it says it better: http://www.dssrookie.com/forums/974503-post2.html

it seems though when they all go down it is usually 3-12 hours later for the 7000 bin to come out. usually late that night i will notice platinum or extreme and of course next morning (or if you stay up late enough) the 7000 will be out. WORTH THE WAIT THOUGH!!!! plus you have so many things recorded you can get by on the downtime pretty easily.
