Dual Tuner?

Hey guys is the 9000HD a dual tuner box? meaning watch one channel and record another? I was under the impression it was when i bought mine. All is working good otherwise, just trying to get to most bang for my buck.
Thanks

No, it is not a dual tuner box like the Viewsat PVR7000 where you can record one channel and watch another.

It however does have multiple tuners:
- one active sat tuner
- one active OTA ATSC terrestrial tuner (for UHF/VFH antenna)
- second inactive sat tuner (removed if one puts in a turbo 8psk module)

There is some talk about modifying the 3rd party code to give it two tuner PVR capabilities (using the 2nd inactive tuner or maybe even the turbo 8psk module), however, they need to work out the bugs in the current code first.

So does the 9000HD actually give you HD quality?
Thanks

Tochsia - do you know you are thread-jacking? It is considered rude to do such. Please read the site rules and start your own thread.
(Short answer to your question is 'Yes').
