what are common ways

to kill an extreme?
i read that loading a clone reciever file on a genuine xtreme is a sure way of killing it.
is it reversible? how else can you kill it and what is and isn't fixable?

I have heard that if you plug the RG6 wire to the box while its on since the LNB produces power. not sure on it through since i haven't done it.

reversing the cables in will do it. most of the time if its a software issue either the file wont load or you can clean the unit with a factory file
