This is day one of the process (soaking in Salt water for 3 days)
A large gallon canning jar
14 Day Pickles
Need 1 glass Gallon Jar w/lid
Use the Glass Jar to do all the steps !!
Cut 1 Gallon Cumbers in slices
Soak in Water w/1cup Salt for 3 Days
Drain and Wash through 3 waters
Soak w/2 tablespoons of Alum and water for 24 hrs
Drain and wash through 2 waters
Cover with vinegar and soak 7 days
Drain vinegar Do Not Wash
Add 3 cups of sugar each day for 3 Days
total of 9 cups
Tie pickling Spices in Cheese Cloth
and leave UN-till Pickles are used !!!
They Do Not have to be Refrigerated after opening !
