So, unless someone that is capable of fixing the bins, does, then they are useless. Why would anyone in their right mind want to purchase a new Coolsat knowing that in a couple of years, if we are still running, that the manufacturer is going to drop support to it to sell it's newer boxes? I like the Coolsat(I have three) but will not buy another one because they will not support them. I have bought 4 other boxes that would have been Coolsat's if not for the lack of loyalty, or better put, their greed.

mccrorytr, "A couple of years"?--If you buy an FTA box with any expectation that the box will run for a week, you are making a bad guess--the providers are active in their efforts to stop pirates. To expect a box will be running in a couple of years is such an un-supported, wild guess that I have no words.

The basic rule should be, if you want a hobby buy FTA box, if you want TV pay to subscribe--a basic subscription is only a few hundred dollars a year (US).

All I can say you buy whichever box you like and I will do the same. The providers didn't stop the 4000, 5000 and 6000 Coolsats. The manufacturer did to sell their newer boxes. The Pansat 2500 support was stopped due to the trouble with the size of the chip, not the size of the manufacturers wallet. So jvvh5897, go out and buy as many Coolsat's you like. I suggest that you expect the older ones that still have support to fall soon. As far as I am concerned "End of Discussion".
