DM500 Streaming issues with web-x-tv vlc etc

Hello I am running the newest PLi image with rqcamd on my DM500s. Web-x-tv fails to work in either firefox or ie, i either get "no video" or a big vlc cone.

the only way i've gotten this to work is to issue the following command at a linux box at home...
./vlc -vv hxxp://10.0.100.3:31344/':sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp1v,vb=64,scale=1,acodec =mpga,ab=32,channels=1}:std{access=http,mux=mpeg1, dst=10.0.100.250:4321}'
then i connect to the linux box with hxxp://10.0.100.250:4321/ on vlc on my windows system.

this doesnt always work, usually i ahve to let the vlc session on the linux box chill for awhile before i try to connect or I get no stream.

I've also tried dreamstreamer, and some other windows options but these seem to all use the vlc plugin so they seem to act in the same way.


I was reading around a bit and came upon bitcontrol.

I tried to install the following two packages either with no success
hxxp://www.bitcontrol.com/download/streampes_1.1-r2_dm500.tgz
hxxp://www.bitcontrol.com/download/streampes_1.1-r2_dm500.ipk

the tgz simply says install failed. the ipk tells me /var/tmp/TempDirForInstaller/tmp.tgz not found.

I can almost deal with the dual vlc setup, but anytime I change channels vlc on the linux box seg faults and drops my stream

Anybody have any ideas on what I can do to remedy this or get bitcontrol working?

Did you set the Default Stream Output Chain to ALL and select/checkmark everything else on that page in VLC's preferences (stream output/advanced options)?

continues ; i mean streaming in pc throught DB to tv as well as using pli-jade!!!!.

my latest try out have failed because the lack of communication between vlc and movie player-plug in from pli-jade.

i never considered Anti-virus software o firewall setting could be a barrier for that streaming job because both vlc & dcc center software had privileges access since they were installed .

but ,i will check up to make sure .
